The Senior Technical Specialist has a minimum of twelve years in his/her technical field and military training or formal education equivalent to 2 years of college. A bachelor’s degree can be substituted for 4 years experience. These individuals have thorough knowledge and experience in the application of DoD standards, specifications and regulations to military systems. They are able to audit change procedures, development and testing documentation to verify compliance with plans and procedures.
Senior Technical Specialists have experience and have participated in reviews, audits and evaluations. They also have a thorough knowledge and experience in the development and review of plans and procedures, support requirements, data requirements and test requirements. These individuals analyze results and prepare technical report documentation. These personnel possess thorough knowledge/experience in the preparation of documentation in accordance with applicable DoD standards and regulations. They work within general guidelines and exercise considerable latitude for selecting appropriate methods for completing assignments. These individuals also may initiate contact with the government to solicit or provide information within the scope of tasks delegated.
